The force from the chainring is transmitted via the chain to the sprocket of the rear hub. Extreme loads and various weather influences are constant companions of your chain.

Depending on the operating conditions, chains vary in length and must therefore be replaced sooner or later. To protect chainrings and sprockets from excessive wear, you should ensure that they are replaced in good time. You get the best possible performance from the Shimano HyperDrive system if you use original Shimano HG chains.

Improved wear resistance is achieved by chromium-plating the pins. For even longer durability, the chain has a corrosion-resistant coating.
